Credits/IMDB BIOGRAPHY Jake Wachtel, a television and film reporter and producer, has been writing and directing for television broadcasting, film and news media for over 10 years.
Jake began his career as an entertainment reporter and news producer for Tokyo Broadcasting System (TBS), CBS' domestic partner in Japan. He is an award-winning journalist who has covered stories both nationally and internationally. He spent long periods in South America, lived for two years in Japan and speaks Japanese. His coverage has included political elections as well as the Oscars, Olympics and Grammy Awards. Among his celebrity interviews are Anthony Hopkins, Ben Affleck, Paris Hilton, Amy Adams and Christina Aguilera.
Wachtel currently executive produces for NBCUniversal in Los Angeles. His past work includes producing "Sports Soup" for E! Studios and reporting for TBS. He has performed as a talent producer/ producer for NBC Studios' "Dennis Miller" show and developed programs for Zee Television, including "The Incurables."
Born in Santa Barbara, Jake Wachtel is a graduate of the Claremont Colleges in Southern California. A CORO Fellow in Public Affairs, Jake serves on the Journalism Advisory Board of Santa Monica College and the Media Advisory Board of Claremont McKenna College. Since 2000, Jake has volunteered with Portraits of Hope, a non-profit organization that helps hospitalized children through art therapy.
